The camera board consists of a small PCB with a shat 150mm ribbon cable. This connects directly into the Raspberry Pi. I have now seen some longer cables on Ebay, but I can't say if they work ok.

Tripod

How about mounting the camera on a tripod?

3D Printed Camera Case

I have designed and printed my first raspberry pi camera case. The PCB sits inside and the lid just snaps on. No screws.
There is a hole in the back for mounting. So the next step is to print a bracket.
